Crayon Closet started with a phone call between Beau and Janie—two people who saw the need for change. We talked about how too many veterans feel like it’s the end of the road, and how spouses and families carry the weight too, often in silence. We knew something had to shift.
We built Crayon Closet to remind veterans and their families:

There’s always someone here who cares, who listens, and who celebrates the little things—whether it’s drinking your coffee, eating a hot dog, or just making it through the day. To us, those are wins. And together, we’re creating a space full of support, honesty, laughter, and the reminder that better days are possible.
