Crayon Closet was founded by veterans, spouses, and patriots who recognized the need for a safe, supportive space for those who serve and their families. Our mission is to provide veterans and their spouses with a place to connect, share, and access vital resources for everyday life.
We’re dedicated to ensuring that every veteran and spouse feels heard, valued, and supported. Whether you’re navigating the challenges of service, transition, or daily life, Crayon Closet is here to help build strong connections, offer encouragement, and provide meaningful connections.
Our goal is simple: to empower veterans and their families with the tools, resources, and community they need to not just survive—but thrive.
I’m a 51-year-old single father, disabled veteran, and caretaker in Florida. After experiencing six years of homelessness myself, I founded Operation Boot Force to put boots on the ground for homeless veterans, helping them reconnect with VA healthcare, access local resources, and even work toward family reunification.
This Thanksgiving, Operation Boot Force is lacing up and putting boots on the ground for something that matters serving our homeless veterans a warm dinner and a reminder they’re NEVER forgotten.
We’re not just talking about it. We’re DOING it.
Because no vet should face the holidays hungry or alone.
Want to help? Want to stand beside us?
This is your call to action.

Peer-driven groups, raw conversation, and practical resources that remind you: you don’t have to carry it all alone.

Because healing doesn’t stop with the uniform. We build spaces for spouses and families to be seen, heard, and supported.

From daily check-ins to humor that only vets understand, we create a safe space for honesty, connection, and rebuilding purpose.

Immediate connections to resources, and veteran-focused organizations.

Want to join the mission? We'd love to hear from you. Whether it's one question, and idea, or just needing someone to listen - this is your place to reach out.
We’re not polished suits or a faceless system: we’re veterans, spouses, families, and patriots who’ve lived it.
Crayon Closet was born from one truth: we were tired of watching our own fall through the cracks.
Our hope is a safe place for every veteran family.
Our dream is to hand people back their crayons, to remind them they still have the power to draw something new after the chaos.
This isn’t just a nonprofit.
It’s dignity reclaimed, despair defied, and a promise: you are not forgotten.
